Founding places open now

Every other planner assumes the charger works. We check.

WayEV watches UK charge points around the clock, learns when each site is busy, and plans your route around the ones that will actually be working when you pull in — whatever you drive.

The first 500 people on the waiting list keep Pro free. For life.

Unlimited routes, unlimited charging stops and reliability-first planning — never billed, no card, not a trial. It is our thank-you for turning up early and telling us what is broken.

Know before you go

Three questions about every charger

Range was never the hard part of driving an EV. The charger is. WayEV answers the three things you actually want to know before you commit to a detour.

Not checked

Will it be working?

Status straight from the operator's own feed, re-checked every few minutes and backed by the uptime we have measured ourselves. A site is scored on how much of it works, not on its best bay — and where nobody has checked, we say so rather than colouring it green.

Will it be free when I get there?

Ninety days of observation tell us what each site normally does at this hour on this day of the week. Aim for the quiet window, or see that Friday teatime is always a queue. Shown only once there is enough history to mean something.

Will it charge my car fast?

See exactly how long a charge will take and what it'll cost before you plug in — your car's real charging curve run against that charger's maximum power, not a headline kW figure neither of you will reach.

Not going anywhere? Just charging?

Charge Now skips the route entirely. Every charge point around you on a live map, sorted by reliability first, filtered by connector, power and radius up to 50 km. Save the ones you use, and check either history panel before you set off.

How we know

We’d rather say “we don’t know” than guess.

Charger data is where every EV app quietly cuts corners. A pin on a map is not evidence that anything works. These are the rules we hold ourselves to, and you can see them applied on every charger we show you.

Measured, not assumed

We poll the operators every few minutes and roll those readings up hour by hour, so a score reflects what a site actually did — alongside operator reputation and driver reports, never a network's name alone.

A site, not its best bay

Six bays with five broken is not a working site. We judge a location on the share of it that functions, which is what you experience when you arrive.

Silence isn't failure

When a feed goes quiet we mark the reading unknown. Counting it as broken would score our own data collection rather than the charger.

Unchecked means unchecked

A charger nobody has verified is labelled that way, never shown as fine. You get to decide how much risk that's worth on your route.

And drivers tell us too

Report whether a charger worked for you and it feeds straight into that site’s score, weighted alongside everything we measure ourselves. Ninety days of reports count — so a bad week shows up, and a fixed charger recovers.

Journey planning

A plan built around your car, not an average one

128 models, each with its own charging curve, driven through a physics model that knows about the hill you’re about to climb and the headwind waiting on the other side.

Any EV, any badge

128 models across 22 makes, from a 2014 Model S to this year's arrivals. Each carries real charging-curve data, not a single headline kW number.

Physics, per segment

Aerodynamic drag, rolling resistance, auxiliary load and battery efficiency — plus every gradient on the route, because climbs cost energy and descents give some back.

Weather-aware

Met Office forecasts adjust your range for temperature, headwind and rain. You see the percentage impact rather than a silently pessimistic number.

Real charging curves

Every car slows as it fills. WayEV models the actual power your battery will accept at each state of charge, which is why its stop times hold up.

You decide what “best” means

The same trip has several right answers. Pick the one you want and the whole plan re-solves around it — including which chargers are eligible in the first place.

Then it keeps up with you

A plan is only worth something if it survives contact with the actual road. Start the journey and WayEV navigates, tracks and re-plans as things change — in your browser, with nothing to install.

Turn-by-turn directions

Clear cards show your next manoeuvre, distance and road name, with voice guidance and the current speed limit. Updates live from your device's GPS.

Deviation detection

Wander more than 100 m off-route and WayEV notices immediately, then re-plans from where you actually are rather than where it hoped you'd be.

Live battery tracking

Your state of charge is tracked against the plan the whole way, so you can see drift building long before it becomes a problem at the next stop.

Mid-journey re-sync

Plans change. Update where you are and what charge you have, and the remaining route and stops re-solve instantly around the new reality.

Your chargers, watched for you

Save the chargers you rely on and WayEV keeps an eye on them. If one goes out of service, comes back, or changes its price, you hear about it — on the page and as a notification, with quiet hours so it never wakes you at 3am.

Every finished journey plots the battery level we predicted against the level you actually had, stop by stop. Nobody else in this category will put their own accuracy on screen — we think you should be able to see exactly how much to trust the next plan.
