Plans and billing

What Free, Premium and Pro include, what counts towards your limits, and how to upgrade or cancel.

4 minute read

trevl has three plans. Free covers ordinary use comfortably; Premium and Pro remove the monthly limits and add room for more cars and favourites. Prices are on the Subscription page, reached from your dashboard or Account.

What each plan includes

FreePremiumPro
Journey plans a month50UnlimitedUnlimited
Re-plans a month15UnlimitedUnlimited
Cars35Unlimited
Favourite chargers515Unlimited
Live battery data over OBD-II——Yes

Everything else — as many charging stops as a journey needs, live charger status, reliability-first planning, navigation, Charge Now, charger history and alerts — is on every plan. The number of stops is never limited by your plan: it depends on your car, the distance and the weather, and trevl will not cut a journey short to sell you an upgrade.

What counts towards your limits

  • A journey plan is used each time you press Plan Route, including the sample trip when you first join.
  • A re-plan is used each time the rest of a journey is worked out again: pressing Update SoC on a plan, updating your charge during a journey with the quick buttons or the slider, and each automatic re-route when you leave the route or your charge drifts.
  • Limits reset at the start of each calendar month. Your usage so far is on the dashboard, the Account page and the Subscription page.

When you reach a limit, trevl tells you which one and offers the upgrade options. Nothing else stops working: Charge Now, navigation on a journey already planned, and your favourites carry on.

Founding members and trials

Every new account starts on Pro. If you hold one of the first 500 places on the waiting list, you are a founding member and Pro is yours, free, for good. Otherwise you get 30 days of Pro free, shown with a countdown on the Subscription page, and then move to Free. No card is taken for the trial and nothing is charged when it ends.

You do not have to wait for a trial to end to pay. Choose Upgrade to Premium or Upgrade to Pro at any time; the trial ends there and the plan you bought starts straight away. Founding members have nothing to buy: the Subscription page says Pro is yours, and there is no bill to manage.

Upgrading

On the Subscription page, choose Upgrade to Premium or Upgrade to Pro. Where yearly billing is offered, switch between Monthly and Annual above the plans to see both prices. You pay through Stripe’s secure checkout and return to trevl with the new plan in place.

Managing and cancelling

Once you have paid through Stripe, Manage Billing opens Stripe’s billing page, where you can change your card, see and download invoices, or cancel. It stays available after a cancellation, so you can still reach old invoices. If you cancel, you keep your plan until the end of the period you have paid for, then move to Free. Your cars, favourites and history stay; anything over the Free limits simply cannot be added to until you are under them.

If a payment fails

You will see a banner saying your last payment failed. Your plan keeps working while Stripe retries the card over the following days. Update your card through Manage Billing and the banner goes away once a payment succeeds. If every retry fails, the subscription ends and the account moves to Free.
