Getting started with trevl
From the waiting list to your first plan: your invite, your account, and what you get on day one.
4 minute read
trevl is invite-only while we build it, so getting in takes one extra step: a place on the waiting list. After that it is an account, a car, and your first plan. Most people are planning within five minutes of their invite arriving.
Joining
Join the waiting list
Go to the waiting list page and enter your email address. Telling us your car is optional, but it helps us make sure it is in the catalogue before you arrive. You may be asked to tick a box to show you are not a bot; if it does not appear, a content blocker may be stopping it.
Confirm your email
We send you a link. Your place on the list is only issued when you open it, which keeps places for real people rather than for scripts filling in forms. If the email does not arrive, check your spam folder, or simply submit the form again: a fresh link replaces the old one.
Create your account
Your invite email contains a code. Often it arrives as soon as you confirm, and the confirmation page takes you straight to sign-up; when we are letting people in more slowly, we invite them in the order they joined. Enter the code on the sign-up page along with your name, email and a password of at least eight characters with a capital letter and a number. Or sign up with your Google account, which still asks for the code the first time.
Add your car
The first time you sign in, a short tour shows you around: your car, Charge Now, journey planning, favourite chargers, and the Help & feedback button for telling us about problems and ideas. Skip it if you like; you can take it again from Account under Getting around.
Your dashboard opens with a card asking for your car. Pick it from the list and trevl offers to plan a sample trip, Bristol to Manchester, so you can see a plan built for your battery straight away. See adding and managing your cars for more.
Founding places
The first 500 places on the waiting list are founding places. If yours is one of them, your account is on Pro, free, permanently. The page you land on after confirming your email tells you which you have.
What you get on day one
Every new account starts on Pro. Founding members keep it for good; everyone else has a 30-day Pro trial, after which the account moves to the Free plan unless you choose a paid one. Nothing is charged automatically and no card is needed for the trial. See plans and billing for what each plan includes.
Finding your way around
The menu at the top has everything:
- Dashboard: shortcuts to Charge Now and Plan Journey, your usage this month, your cars, your favourite chargers and your plan.
- Charge Now: chargers near you, right now, with live status. See finding a charger with Charge Now.
- Plan: the journey planner. See plan your first journey.
- Guides: these pages.
- Account: your cars, home location, notifications, plan, and your data.
trevl runs in your phone’s browser and is designed for a phone on a cradle. You can add it to your home screen from the browser’s menu so it opens like an app.
Stuck, or something looks wrong?
Use the Help & feedback button in the corner of any page once you are signed in. A real person reads every message and replies by email, and the page you were on comes with it. If you cannot sign in, email support@trevl.co.uk.
Free Pro, for the first 500
